The main function of a power system is to supply electrical energy to its customers with an acceptable degree of reliability and quality. Among many other things, the reliability of a power system depends on trouble free transformer operation. Now, in the electricity utilities around the world, a significant number of power transformers are operating beyond their design life. Most of these transformers are operating without evidence of distress. In Power Link Queensland (PLQ), 25% of the power transformers were more than 25 years old in 1991. So priority attention should be directed to research into improved diagnostic techniques for determining the condition of the insulation in aged transformers.

Four Quadrant Control Of Switched Reluctance Motors PDF
The SRM is a doubly-salient, singly-excited machine with
independent windings of the stator. Its stator structure is same as PM
motor, but the rotor is simpler having no permanent magnet on it. Stator
windings on diametrically opposite poles are connected in series or
parallel to form one phase of the motor.

Power Scenario Of India PDF
The Indian economy uses a variety of energy sources, both commercial and
non-commercial. Fuel wood, animal waste and agricultural residue are
the traditional or `non-commercial' sources of energy that continue to
meet the bulk of the rural energy requirements even today. However, the
share of these fuels in the primary energy supply has declined from over
70% in the early 50's to a little over 30% as of today. The traditional
fuels are gradually getting replaced by the "commercial fuels" such as
coal, lignite, petroleum products, natural gas and electricity.

Propulsion Systems For Ships PPT
The WEC wave energy conversion is a
new, highly efficient technology that harnesses the immense, renewable
energy contained in ocean waves. Its unique ability to extract and
convert energy from both the rising and falling of waves, represents a technological breakthrough.
